V. P. Nandakumar

VP Nandakumar is the Chairman and Managing Director of Manappuram Finance Limited. Since taking the helm in 1986, he has transformed a local family business into a premier Indian NBFC with 5,200 branches and assets exceeding ₹42,000 crore. Recognized for pioneering the organized gold loan sector, he led the industry’s first IPO in 1995 and introduced revolutionary online gold loan services. Beyond his executive role, he serves as Chairman of Asirvad Microfinance and on the Board of Governors of IIM Kozhikode. A dedicated philanthropist, he leads the Manappuram Foundation and serves as an International Director for Lions Clubs International, championing financial inclusivity and community welfare.
