One Day in the Life of the English Language

I am a professor of English at CUNY--Baruch. I have published several books and articles about writing, teaching, and literature. My most recent book is One Day in the Life of the English Language: A Microcosmic Usage Handbook (http://press.princeton.edu/titles/10443.html) I was born in Brooklyn. I have taught writing courses at Indiana University, Eastern New Mexico University, The University of Gdansk (Poland), Central Washington University, Princeton University, Bard College, Scripps College, and Baruch College. I have been a WPA for ten years total (three at Scripps, seven at Baruch). I'm currently working on four book projects--one on teaching, one a biography of my late uncle of the same name (Frank Cioffi), one a book about life in Communist Poland, and the final a book of poetry, _All That Matters_. I live in New Jersey with my wife, the theater historian Kathleen Cioffi.
