On retiring, I needed a challenge and decided, after many failed attempts over many years, to start running. The main incentive was to enable me to run with my lurcher plus keep myself fit. It has been very much a social event for me and I have met a lot of lovely people and their dogs, my lurcher no longer runs with me as he is getting older and lazier, but my Border Collie does and he loves it. Having initially stated that I would never run on wet grass as I didn’t like getting my feet wet, I now happily run in mud and hate running on roads ... hence the title Muddy Dog Runner. My other interests include writing (including numerous pen-friends), reading, walking, singing, dancing and yoga. `my latest passion is open water swimming, tried it and was quickly hooked.
